Custom Links on the Course Tools Menu

I was excited to find that you can add custom links to an external url on the Course Tools menu. (You can do this through Designer Tools/Manage Course/Course Menu/Add Custom Link. Make sure you “Apply Settings.”) The website will open within WebCT.

It would be nice to have a link to the Student Faq on the Course Tools menu. Unfortunately, this link actually overwrites the entire WebCT screen when I add it as a custom link. You have to press the Back button to return to the WebCT screen. This is not very intuitive for the student. I’ll have to figure out why just this one link doesn’t work.

Of course, don’t forget the Web Links tools option. It’s a quick and easy way to add web links to your course.
